Job description

The CentreEstablished in 1984 and operating out of beautiful premises around Brookvale on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, the preschool is a small, nurturing, not-for-profit community School with a maximum enrolment of 30 students across the 3-6 age range.

The Preschool provides an authentic Montessori educational approach that centres on understanding and meeting the needs of the individual child, instilling a love of learning, a sense of wonder and developing each child’s confidence and independent learning skills. The School has a large, open classroom and a beautiful, natural outdoor environment. At full enrolment, there is 5 staff. Operating between the hours of 8-4pm during school terms.

About the position

Our client is looking for a motivated and highly skilled Cert III or Diploma educator who is truly passionate and prepared to go above and beyond.

We are looking for experienced educators who are able to work respectfully and in partnership with children and their colleagues.

You will be expected to assume programming and documentation responsibilities for a small group of children as their primary educator. You will be expected to have a strong child centred approach with the ability to build excellent rapport with children, families and the other team members and have experience with documentation. 

You must be committed to going above and beyond and have a curiosity and openess to learning.

We are seeking applications from experienced, values based individuals, who are truly passionate about providing exceptional Montessori programs for young children.

Skills / qualifications / experience 

To be considered for this position, you must have

  • Certificate III lor Diploma in Early Childcare Education or ACECQA Equivalent.
  • More than 1 years experience.
  • Approved first aid qualification; CPR, anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management certificates; child protection training and current working with children clearance.
  • Strong programming and planning skills using a digital platform.
  • Understanding of respectful care giving, circle of security or responsive collaborative approaches to working with children.
  • A flexible, mature and friendly team player who has strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of child protection responsibilities as a mandatory reporter.
  • Commitment to a safe work environment.
