Executive Director, Population Health - Preventive Health SA

Preventive Health SA is the South Australian Government’s health promotion agency, leading a dedicated program of prevention work to support the health and wellbeing of all South Australians. Through the delivery and implementation of evidence-based policy and programs, Preventive Health SA is working to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequities for the South Australian community.
The Executive Director, Population Health is responsible for leading and driving strategic change and the promotion of strategic initiatives, to enable Preventive Health SA to deliver valued and quality policies, programs and initiatives that improve Population Health outcomes in the areas of obesity prevention (food systems and physical activity), mental health and suicide prevention, injury prevention, alcohol, tobacco, vaping and other drugs, and the determinants of health.
Ensuring the development and oversight of the Population Health Division, you will facilitate appropriate improvement processes including program co-design and implementation; evidence-informed policy and legislative reforms; partnerships across government and non-government sectors; and program delivery designed to meet SA Government’s requirements.
You will demonstrate superior consultation skills through the provision of sound advice to key stakeholders including the Chief Executive and Minister; provide inspirational and influential leadership to motivate a diverse range of stakeholders; and exhibit highly developed communication, change management, negotiation and interpersonal skills, including demonstrating cultural competency and sensitivity to enable effective interactions and build successful relationships.
We are seeking applications from those with exceptional skills in developing, implementing and evaluating Population Health strategies and policies that have led to positive, sustained health outcomes, and experience in leading and influencing strategic policy direction. You will be a lateral, creative and visionary thinker, possess adaptive leadership skills, and be motivated by an opportunity that will require growing and building a team within a complex, ever-changing landscape.
