What you'll do
We have an exciting opportunity for a results-driven and self starter Pricing or Commercial Analyst with a strong Data Analytics background with commercial acumen & business partnering skills - to join our Pricing & Customer Value team, a business partnering function within the Commercial division of Supermarkets.
The purpose of this role is to support the Cost Team in data analytics related work, using your technical expertise and commercial acumen, to help the team surfacing data-led insights to the commercial teams aiming for a better outcome for our customers and maintaining Woolworths' competitiveness in the market.
- Framing problems, gathering and analysing complex data, developing insights and recommendations to support the Pricing & Better Buying team's mandate within the business
- Inject analytical rigour and innovative thinking into the issues the business faces, and proactively finding and landing opportunities to add value
- Design and execute complex SQL and BigQuery queries to extract data from various sources. Clean, manipulate, and transform data for analysis.
- Develop and maintain data models that support business decision-making, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Support the day to day needs of the team members when it comes to data related issues and challenges with GCP, BigQuery and Google Sheets
What you'll bring
We are looking for a Pricing or Commercial Analyst with a solid Data Analytics foundation with additional skills in stakeholder management and problem solving.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Pricing, Finance, or Commercial related roles, preferably in a fast-paced retail or FMCG environment
- Proficiency in managing large data sets and developing complex analyses to provide actionable insights and recommendations
- Experience with data modelling, advanced SQL skills, experience with BigQuery and GCP or similar technologies. Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Looker would be a plus
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships with diverse stakeholders across the business
- Strong prioritisation skills, ability to deliver under tight deadlines, and adaptability in a challenging environment
