Islamic School of Canberra is a co-educational, K – 10 independent school located in Weston, ACT. We are a growing and expanding school and in the process of opening years 11 and 12 in the near future. ICT Teacher (One position)
Applicants should have the required experience and qualifications for this position. Priority will be given to experienced teachers. All applicants must have a TQI registration; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Arabic Teacher (One position)
Applicants must be native speakers of Arabic and should have the required experience and qualifications for this position. Priority will be given to experienced teachers in teaching Arabic to secondary students. Quran teaching experience is desirable. All applicants must have a TQI registration and must be fluent in English; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Primary Class Teachers K – 6 (Two positions)
Our school is expanding in numbers due to high demand and increased enrolments; therefore, we are opening new sections in different year levels. Priority will be given to experienced teachers. All applicants must have TQI registration. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Skills and Training:
a. A sound understanding of the Australian National Curriculum
b. Excellent written and spoken English skills.
c. Able to develop an engaging learning environment with effective classroom management.
e. Differentiate teaching for mixed ability students.
f. Participate in the school’s professional development activities.
g. Participate in the school's extra-curricular activities and events.
h. Possess current TQI registration and WWVP card.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Follow and implement school policies and procedures related to curriculum, student management, assessment, and reporting.
- Implement the school’s term planners and daily weekly planners.
- Attend all curriculum days, staff meetings and school activities and events throughout the year.
- Attend to yard duties and supervise students in and outside the classroom during breaks.
