SKYLAS ACADEMIC PROGRAMS AND TUITION in North Parramatta, is seeking a strong team of Tutors, Monday to Friday.
Position Type: Part-Time and Casual. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Predetermined hours are 8.30am - 3pm, and optional after school. 3:30pm-7:30pm, additional hours may be mutually agreed.
Job Summary: SKYLAS ACADEMIC PROGRAMS AND TUITION is seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood and Primary School Tutors to join our team and help students achieve their academic goals. Our tutors will be responsible for providing one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to Primary School students in various subjects, with a focus on personalised learning and skill development. Applicants with a level of excellence to make a difference in children's learning journey are encouraged to apply. Teachers must understand the Science of Reading and best practice for lesson delivery
Responsibilities:
Individualised Tutoring: Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to Primary School students in English, Mathematics and other relevant subjects.
Curriculum Support: Develop and implement personalised lesson plans and teaching strategies to address each student's unique learning needs and goals.
Evidence-Based Programs: Implement the use of our approved evidence-based programs to deliver Literacy and Numeracy.
Assessment: Assess the progress of students regularly and adapt teaching methods as necessary to ensure improvement.
Motivation: Inspire and motivate students to excel academically by fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with parents or guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and areas of improvement.
Resource Management: Utilise a variety of teaching materials, resources, and technology to enhance the learning experience.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of each student's performance and progress.
Continued Learning: Stay updated on curriculum changes and educational best practices.
Professional Development: Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of students during tutoring sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (preferred).
- NESA registration.
- Teaching experience, especially in a Primary School setting.
- Strong knowledge of the new Primary School curriculum and teaching methods.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and empathy when working with students of varying abilities.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Commitment to maintaining a positive and motivating learning environment.
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) and relevant teaching qualifications (if required by local regulations).
