As part of GRG's commitment to the education of every child, the school invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Learning Support Officer (Primary School). This passionate individual will assist students with diverse learning needs across all Key Learning Areas in a Primary setting, enabling students to access the curriculum and to achieve to the best of their ability. This is a permanent full-time position (term time only - stand down during school holiday periods) commencing Term 3 2024 (or by negotiation).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and supervise students with additional learning needs in and out of the classroom environment
- Support students with their individualised learning plans and report on student progress
- Assist with data collection and maintenance for legislative compliance (NCCD)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure the inclusion of all students in all learning experiences
- Apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.

Essential Criteria:
- Unwavering sense of care towards all students
- A commitment and interest to support students with disability
- Experience delivering evidence-based learning intervention programs for students with a specific range of Learning Support needs including cognitive, sensory, physical and social/emotional disabilities
- Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice
- Certificate IV or other relevant qualifications in Educational Support or working towards completion of these
- Experience working with class teachers to plan for and support students with additional learning needs
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a member of a team.
