Groves is currently seeking applications from qualified, registered teachers to take up a teaching position within the Learning Support department of the Primary School. Our Primary SWANS Coordinator partners with students and families in the Day School and Distance Education modes of learning. Experience or training in Inclusive Education is desirable.
Position Objectives
- Provide support and guidance in the development and implementation of appropriate programs that support the learning and behavioural needs of students with specific learning difficulties.
- Develop and deliver strategies and programs for individuals/small groups to support educational goals, curriculum access, learning engagement, social participation, and classroom management.
- Participate in staff, group or other meetings related to the school as an organisation, administration and curriculum.
- Plan for the long-and short-term needs of all young people using the observations and knowledge in relation to interests, skills, abilities, background, and culture.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Head of Primary or nominated delegate.
- Document learning support plans with attention to reports and sector reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Minimum tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in teaching, Inclusive Education qualification desirable.
- Experience in working with students who have a learning difficulty.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices, program development and documentation.
- Registered with Queensland College of Teachers.
