About the role
We are looking for a Principal Advisor – Global Technology Projects and Operational Technology who will be responsible for leading the technology procurement projects team within our Global Technology procurement portfolio.
You will be accountable for the execution of procurement activities including (sourcing strategies, project sourcing, contract implementation and post award contract management) in partnership with the Rio Tinto Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Partnering and Projects function.
You will also design and establish the category strategy and implementation plan for Operational Technology at Rio Tino working closely with various stakeholders from Procurement, IS&T, and our strategic third-party partners.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology procurement leader. You will enjoy collaborating with a range of stakeholders to influence and manage a broad portfolio of work. You have a passion for people leadership, transformation and can speak the language of today’s technology landscape.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Global Technology you will:
- Provide leadership to a team working across multiple locations
- Build and manage effective relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders
- Lead business co-planning activities for technology projects
- Collaborate effectively with Global Technology Category leads
- Provide commercial leadership and guidance to the relevant stakeholder teams
- Build and grow relationships with relevant suppliers to drive innovation and value
- Work effectively in a global team
- Facilitate implementation of continuous category improvement initiatives
What you will bring

- Significant previous experience in Technology Procurement
- Solid influencing skills a proven track record of leading successful teams
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation and improvement is essential.
