The Principal Business Analyst will provide support to the Manager Health Information on critical issues impacting on the operation of Activity Based Funding (ABF) in the State Health System. Provide specialist advice to assist other unit priorities as required including data-related working groups.The Role: * Provide high level advice to senior managers and executive on key performance indicators affecting healthcare services within the state.
- Provide high level expert advice and support to the Manager Health Information including the development of complex position papers, reports, correspondence and briefings at a high level affecting acute healthcare services within the state and within required timeframes.
- Undertake research and analysis, evaluate options and make recommendations to respond to new and emerging developments or requirements including ABF and Commonwealth initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships with senior leaders and business units, understand relevant business areas and support the business in better understanding and interpreting financial information and performance metrics.
- Drive ongoing development, process improvement and maintenance of management reporting, budget reporting and the forecasting processes and policies, including documented procedures.
- Responsible for collecting, processing, analysing and disseminating information on the health of Tasmanians and their use of health services.
- Responsible for interpreting policies, regulations and guidelines to manage the development and delivery of reporting outcomes in line with current and future business needs
- Responsibility for the national statutory activity reporting (National Minimum Data Sets/Best Endeavours Data Sets - Activity Based Funding (ABF) and Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) reporting.
- Some Intra/Interstate travel maybe required
