Jacobs has an opportunity for a Principal CivilEngineer / Design Manager to join the team in Perth. The Principal Civil Engineer/ Design Manager is responsible for providing technical input and direction in the design and management of transport infrastructure Jacobs projects across our Roads and Highways team within the ANZ region, specifically in Western Australia. The Principal Civil Engineer/ Design Manager will lead projects and be able to work independently on large scale projects. The Principal Civil Engineer/ Design Manager role provides support to project design disciplines to deliver technically excellent engineering design. The Principal Civil Engineer/ Design Manager is also expected to review design outputs and check design compliance within the project team. The Principal is expected to design and collaborate on projects utilising software in which they are knowledgeable and/or having expertise in. The Principal Civil Engineer/ Design Manager will provide direction to junior designers and remote workshare staff in the correct application of design software, interpretation and application of design standards (in particular MRWA and Australian Standards, ARR 2019) and ensure that designs are produced in a consistent manner and to the quality expected by clients. The Principal Civil Engineer/ Design Manager will also support the Sales team and contribute to their effort to win work by supporting tenders and proposals, in particular developing scope, deliverables and estimation of effort required for the numerous opportunities in the Roads and Highways pipeline. In the role, you will attend client meetings where required and lead the team and support Jacobs to set and maintain current standards especially in the digital space.
