Airswift is presently seeking an accomplished Principal Civil Engineer to join our client on a 12-month contract at one of their facilities in Perth, CBD.
Ideally, you will be a skilled Principal Civil Engineer with high levels of technical engineering expertise, gained in the built environment, to help deliver and execute project of high complexity. You would have experience with interaction with local government, approval process associated with urban development as well as experience with dealing with difficult geotechnical condition.
Our client is one of the most highly regarded consultancies within the Civil Engineering space and has a healthy pipeline of projects which includes underground processes, associated surface infrastructure, overland conveyor and a port material handling plant that is developed within an existing site.

What you will be doing
- Report to the engineering manager, manage a small team of talented engineers and designers to meet statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Be responsible for the following:
- Scope management
- Cross disciplinary coordination to ensure successful delivery of Customer’s requirement.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in Civil Engineering.
- Support effective communication with the Civil Engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
What you will bring
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree
- 10+ years of experience in Civil Engineering design in the mining, energy and/or infrastructure sector
- Experience in Resource Sector preferred with experience in the ferrous sector is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in developing concept right to execution phases of large projects.
- Good knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements and exposure to developing civil design across a range of project cycles using Australian Standards
- Experience in major project team where interaction in a multidisciplinary environment is must.
