Description
We are seeking to appoint a Principal Civil Engineer in the Community Development business unit. This business unit has a strong pipeline of work in the Land Development (subdivision) and Building sectors (civil) and are seeking to grow the technical and leadership capabilities to manage this growth.
About the role
Stantec Community Development Perth team are involved in exciting projects within a variety of industries and sectors including land development, civil infrastructure, transport, mining, water and buildings. We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineering technical leader to join our established and growing team. Our team work on Civil Engineering only projects as well as a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.
This role includes project design and delivery across a range of projects and sectors. Projects range from early concept design and master planning through to detailed design and construction documentation. The role will require independent project delivery, client liaison and ability to win work.
The role will suit will someone who has good technical design background, strong consulting engineering and project delivery skills over a range of areas and clear knowledge of applicable standards and processes. Work winning ability and ability and maintaining client relationships will see you thrive in this role!
Day to day tasks would involve:
- Design, coordination and project management of urban, land and subdivision projects, from feasibility through to delivery
- Prepare technical reports and specifications
- Provide technical expertise to clients and support projects
- Manage projects including scheduling and the preparation of project budgets
- Coordinate between disciplines on multidisciplinary projects
- Undertake and manage site inspections
- Contribute to the development of Stantec's knowledge and skills in Civil Engineering including planning, design, and construction
- Mentor engineers, designers, and drafters to enable them to perform successfully at all levels.
- Maintain existing and develop new, trusted relationships with key clients
- Assist in the securing and delivery of projects by way of business development and client relationship management
To be successful for this role you'll need:
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in Civil Engineering design and the delivery of projects, ideally within urban, land and subdivisions
- Experience in civil design of buildings (highly desirable)
- Experience and a sound understanding of current Civil Engineering technologies, including design, modelling and construction
- Project management skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including report writing.
- Relevant registration and professional accreditations
- Team leadership and mentoring experience
