This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP's Water & Wastewater Treatment team. This is a national role and can be based in our Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast or Adelaide office. - Work as part of a national multi-disciplinary water treatment team to deliver on project goals.
- Manage the overall scope and day-to-day tasks of multiple projects of varying complexity and size and manage the production and review of concise high-quality technical documentation that effectively present complex information and results to technical and non-technical clients.
- Contribute and manage projects (as appropriate), including providing technical review and sign off, risk management, commercial and project management.
- Apply relevant State and Federal legislation as it pertains to water, and apply industry standards and guidelines.
- Undertake liaison with project stakeholders including clients and vendors.
- Provide technical contribution to proposals and/or pursuits.
- Actively contribute to business development initiatives when required.
- Keep abreast of current water and wastewater technology and provide high technical expertise and innovation in the design and procurement of projects.
- Participate in company development initiatives.
- Support and mentor staff, including active participation in the Mentoring Program.
- Active involvement in shaping the industry and events through committees, industry bodies, delivery papers etc.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, MIEAust or equivalent, CPEng, and RPEQ.
- Relevant consulting experience in the Water industry.
- Demonstrated strong technical expertise across a wide spectrum of Water and/or Wastewater Treatment/Process disciplines.
- Proficiency in assuming roles of project manager or design manager across multiple projects.
- Ability to prepare, produce technically sound reports with minimal need for corrections, and review technical reports for medium to large-scale projects.
- Skill in conveying complex technical matters effectively to clients.
- Expertise in utilizing modeling software, analytics techniques, and conducting detailed design and equipment selection.
- Proficient in providing technical leadership across a broad range of areas within Water and/or Wastewater Treatment disciplines, including:
- hydraulic design of water and wastewater treatment plants including development of static and dynamic hydraulic models and HGLs
- hydraulic design of water and wastewater systems, including closed conduit and/or open channel hydraulics, conveyance system design, pumping stations, and process piping detailing
- experience in detailed design, and development of specifications applicable to water and wastewater treatment facilities
- skills to identify risk in small to medium profile projects.
- Experience with CHAIR and HAZOP methodologies, and adeptness in safety in design practices and processes.
- Competence in identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures for medium to large-scale projects.
