In your role as a Principal Consultant, you will serve as a highly knowledgeable and experienced subject matter expert in your field. Under the guidance of Directors, your responsibilities will encompass managing one or multiple components of complex engagements. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise, coaching, and training to junior staff members.
Furthermore, you may contribute to the day-to-day management of the team during engagements, including coaching and offering constructive feedback to facilitate performance development.
Your strong business development skills will be utilised to cultivate and sustain robust client relationships, as well as identify new opportunities for growth and collaboration. This aspect of your role will be instrumental in expanding our client base and driving success.
To succeed in this endeavour, you will:
Provide subject matter expertise and justification during project initiation, while continuously defining deliverables, objectives, constraints, and assumptions throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Apply innovative and creative techniques to solve complex problems on projects, suggesting and implementing process and performance improvements that bring added value to the business.
Assist senior team members in supervising and coaching less experienced team members during engagements, fostering their growth and development.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuously improving the delivery of quality services to clients, offering value-added solutions to address their issues.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of the commercial and contractual aspects of engagements, including managing fee proposals, addressing overruns, and effectively handling work beyond the budget.
Develop and maintain robust client relationships, actively seeking opportunities to strengthen these relationships and proactively engage with client

Our work is highly complex and confidential, so there are some things you must have to fulfil this role:
Significant experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional services firm or the Defence industry.
Experience leading client engagements including related business development activities.
Relevant Degree qualifications
Strong communication skills, both in written and verbal form.
You must hold a minimum NV1 clearance
