The Principal Data Analyst position will undertake research and analysis to support the delivery of evaluation projects for HWQld funded and flagship programs and initiatives, and will support the collection, management, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of a range of qualitative and quantitative data.
The role will use a range of data to inform policies, education, initiatives, and public health programs.
Key accountabilities include:
- Undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis to implement evaluation plans for a range of diverse programs and initiatives.
- Provision of complex data analyses including extracting data from multiple sources, importing and merging data into databases, producing reports, and analysing results.
- Contribute to the preparation of high-quality evaluation reports through qualitative and quantitative data analysis to ensure they meet the standard required for agency reporting and peer-reviewed publication.
- Provide responsive, accurate and timely advice on evaluation projects and research proposals to a range of audiences to facilitate their completion to the standard required.
- Effectively communicate analysis and advice to a wide range of stakeholders and senior audiences using a wide range of written, verbal and visual methods, and to publication standard.
- Foster sustainable partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to gain their support and commitment to the Agency's evaluation projects.
- Lead the governance and manage processes for sharing or accessing of data; staff capability-building activities; and ensure that projects are delivered in compliance with all relevant data-related contractual, regulatory and policy requirements, including ethics, integrity, privacy, data security obligations.
- Develop documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, manuals, in accordance with sound data governance and data management practices.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of current and emerging trends to ensure that the analytical work supporting the development of the agency's proposals, projects and publications is based on up to date contemporary national and international practice.
- Liaise, consult, collaborate, and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of data information is maintained and disseminated.
- Manage and maintain data related processes and reporting, including the development of reporting tools, processes, dashboards, power apps, workflows and spreadsheets.
- Apply ethical principles, laws, and policies in accessing, collecting, analysing, using, maintaining, and disseminating data and information.
