The AA & AI team is focused on reinventing and transforming the shopping experience to best suit our customers' needs and making their lives easier. We look ahead to continuously assess how we can apply the latest technologies in innovative ways to constantly improve the shopping experience.
We drive evolutionary architecture, technical innovation and data driven decisions to implement our strategy. We pride ourselves on being a creative and forward-thinking group, focused on building the next generation of digital retailing.
As the Principal Data Science Architect, you will be working across the entire AA team to define and drive best practice Machine Learning, Statistical and Optimisation architectures to solve analytical and business problems. Includes:
- Solution architecture for data science models / solutions
- Technology architecture to deliver
- Data architecture
- Delivery mechanisms (App, Report, Feed etc) to best drive adoption and utilisation
Act as a technical expert in one or more areas of Advanced Analytics, e.g. ML, Forecasting, Operations Research and Mathematical Optimisation, Deep Learning, Data/ML Engineering & Ops
Research leading industry and academic best practice in key areas of AA algorithms, applications and practices
Lead projects to deliver on time and high quality
Research new Advanced Analytics opportunities in areas of , e.g. ML, Forecasting, Operations Research and Mathematical Optimisation, Deep Learning, Data/ML Engineering & Ops etc to identify new opportunities for future solutions
Shape and drive the Advanced Analytics values within the team
Shape and implement the Advanced Analytics roadmap
Share knowledge and experience across the team
Train and develop other team members in the Advanced Analytics team
Participate in the development of the vision for data / analytics architecture
Work closely with the Coles Enterprise architecture team to ensure AA opportunities are identified and understand how AA fits into Coles Digital Enterprise architect
Prioritisation of analytics projects – ensuring key stakeholder collaboration to ensure projects are prioritised in-line with overall business priorities
Effective Communication with key stakeholders around the delivery of key projects
Design and implement new algorithms to meet business needs
Good things you’ll need
Analytics professional with a proven track record (8+ years) in advanced analytics / data science / Measurement science and/or Econometrics
Track record in designing and delivering production grade, Advanced Analytics solutions
Key analytical techniques, e.g. ML, Forecasting, Operations Research and Mathematical Optimisation, Deep Learning, Data/ML Engineering & Ops etc.
Analytical applications -R, Python, Scala, Hive, Spark, SQL, Excel
Productivity applications - Git, Jira, Confluence
Track record of effectively managing high performance teams
Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Econometrics, Applied Statistics, Physics, Engineering or related field.
