Pivotal role leading the design and implementation of scalable and maintainable software architecture for this Iconic SA Organisation.
COMPANY

As part of the Information Services Department, you will be at the forefront of digital technology services, driving innovation and excellence. ROLE
The Principal Developer assumes a crucial role within the software development team, offering technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to team members, as well as spearheading the design and implementation of scalable and sustainable software architectures. Your responsibilities encompass overseeing the team's adherence to industry best practices and standards, resulting in elevated software quality, expedited time-to-market, strengthened team collaboration, minimized technical debt, and a heightened competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Leadership
  • Provide clear direction, purpose, and context for your team's work, setting targets with agreed deliverables and timeframes.
  • Regularly assess performance and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Adhere to the eCDP development plan and cycle.
Team Management and Mentoring
  • Enhance technical skills and capabilities of team members.
  • Foster efficient team collaboration, leading to better communication and problem-solving.
  • Effectively manage team resources and processes, increasing efficiency and reducing time-to-market for software solutions.
Quality Assurance
  • Reduce time and costs associated with software testing, resulting in faster time-to-market.
  • Improve software quality, leading to fewer bugs and improved user satisfaction.
  • Streamline testing processes, reducing errors and defects in software solutions.
Software Development
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Reduce technical debt for more efficient software maintenance and future development.
  • Implement best practices and standards to enhance software development efficiency and reduce errors.
YOU
Skills and Experience
  • Strong organization, delegation, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, software development tools and methodologies, security, performance optimization, software development life cycle, and debugging.
  • Extensive software development experience, agile methodologies, mentoring, front-end and back-end development expertise.
  • Degree in relevant ICT or business disciplines and relevant experience.
  • Occasional interstate travel and shift work.
