- Conduct HV (primary) design of transmission & distribution substations including layouts, ratings, sizing, specifying and providing technical oversight.
- Develop specifications at the project level and equipment level.
- Use a working knowledge of power system protection and SCADA systems.
- Use a working knowledge of transmission lines and underground cables.
- Use a working knowledge of power system earthing design.
- Support the high voltage scope for Owner's Engineer and Technical Due Diligence projects.
- Undertaking review of designs and reports.
- Checking & verifying of design work undertaken by other team members.
- Coach and mentor junior staff in Electrical Engineering or project delivery.
- Provide leadership in Safety-in-Design (SID) and fulfilling legislative requirements in SID.
- Lead design projects and co-ordinate with various disciplines including civil, structural, geotechnical, secondary, drafting and control systems.
- Undertake short-term site visits according to business needs.
- Prepare proposals and contributing to business development for the team.
- Bachelor's Degree (Electrical Engineering) or Equivalent.
- Typically, 10-15 years' post-graduate experience.
- Existing RPEQ/RPEV or the ability to attain is required.
- Ideally experience in a consultancy environment.
- Experience in EHV and HV Electrical Engineering from conceptual to detailed design in substations, cable systems, transmission & distribution utilities or renewable energy projects.
- Experience in client-facing roles, ability to provide robust advice and support design projects through clear communication of project status, issues and risks.
- Proficient in proposal and report writing.
