Principal Engineer required to deliver bother studies and projects within Bowen Basin.

An international mining house that is at the forefront of the extraction of coal is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer working on civil projects.
Your new role
Reporting to the Manager you will be responsible for tasks including but not limited to:
- Provide technical leadership that seeks to optimise medium- and long-term planning for existing operations
- Identify productivity/cost improvement opportunities and provide recommendations on implementation methodologies
- Working with key stakeholders across the business to lead transformation and innovation in all aspects of mine planning.
- Deliver plans that are supported by effective mine planning design criteria, scheduling assumptions, inclusive of supporting activities relating to the mining fleet.
- Challenge existing practices, assumptions, and mining/hauling/dumping sequences to ensure that business needs are met, whilst ensuring the long-term sustainability of the operations.
- Provide technical support to growth projects, including due diligence, assessment of opportunity & risk, and potential integration relating to M&A activities.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful you will ideally have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mining engineering, with a focus on technical operational planning and optimisation and leadership roles.
- Proven experience in senior and leadership roles at large-scale mining projects.
- Strong knowledge of mining practices, safety regulations, and environmental standards in Australia.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Proficiency in using mining software and other relevant tools for mine planning and analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- Able to obtain Coal Board Medical

This is an excellent opportunity that is Based in Bowen Basin. FIFO from Brisbane or DIDO local to Central Queensland or Mackay. The start for this role will be the end of April 2024 or flexible for the right candidate.
