Form of workAlchemy Recruitment Consulting is working with an emerging Queensland based coal mining company to secure an experienced Principal Environmental Advisor for a permanent position in Brisbane CBD.
As the Principal Environmental Advisor, you will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. Your primary responsibilities include developing environmental management systems to ensure that mining operations comply with the site's Environmental Authority and other relevant licenses.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the rehabilitation schedule.
- Supervising site surface water management plans.
- Directing existing/planned biodiversity offset management plans and offering guidance to the company.
- Administering existing environmental management plans and providing counsel to operations personnel.
- Developing and suggesting a community liaison strategy, leading community and other stakeholder interactions whenever feasible.
- Permanent residence or Australian citizen
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of State and Commonwealth legislation, compliance requirements, codes, and standards.
- Exhibit proven experience in environmental management systems and their practical applications.
- Have prior experience in overseeing the approvals process for coal mining projects.
- Demonstrate adept project management and contractor management abilities.
