About You:
You will describe yourself as a passionate and hardworking environmental professional, looking to expand on your knowledge and skill set. You will be self-motivated, and able to work individually and within a team environment with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
The Opportunity:
Your main objective will be to assist in the delivery of approvals, auditing, and compliance for our clients, including Major Projects. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, contributing towards environmental approvals and management plans, mitigating environmental impacts and risks, and promoting sustainability. You will collaborate closely with the team’s Senior Environmental Advisor and Principal Advisor to assess environmental impacts, develop strategies for improvement, and foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
Your main duties will include:
- Conduct environmental assessments and audits to identify potential risks and compliance issues.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with all regulatory and environmental commitments.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and information for the applicable government departments in accordance with required timeframes.
- Assist with obtaining regulatory approvals in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance and support to projects on environmental best practices, waste management, and pollution prevention.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives, such as energy conservation programs and waste reduction strategies.
- Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, community groups, and industry partners, to address environmental concerns and build positive relationships.
- Monitor and analyse environmental data to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and prepare regular reports for management.
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in the field.
- A strong understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment.
- Experience working within WA legislation.
- A current and valid 'C' class driver’s license.
- Be based in WA and available to attend our office in Clarkson.
- A White Card or willingness to get one.
- A willingness to attend remote areas and travel within Australia / overseas when required.
- Experience with Environmental Compliance / Environmental Auditing is advantageous.
- Exposure to the preparation of Management Plans.
- A commitment to stakeholder engagement.
- Be flexible, creative and adaptable to change, and willing to think outside the box.
