Company Description

Start here. Grow here.

We believe infrastructure creates opportunity for everyone. Whether it's improving your commute, keeping the lights on, providing access to clean water or transforming skylines, our work helps people and communities thrive.

Here, you will have freedom to grow in a world of opportunity.

Leading the change toward a sustainable and equitable future.

Our environmental practice helps industries and governments fulfill their responsibilities to the people they support, as well as the planet that support us all. We provide advisory and technical services to enable you to achieve compliance, manage impacts and reduce or even eliminate risks.

Our services help clients anticipate and manage the environmental impact at each stage of the project: planning and obtaining permits for new facilities; decommissioning, clean-up and closure of contaminates sites and surplus operations facilities; restoration for reuse; addressing critical climate - change issues; protection or restoration of habitats and water quality and the preservation of culture resource.

We're one global team - 47,000 strong - driven by a common purpose to deliver a better world.

AECOM's Environment Business in Perth has an exciting opportunity for an environmental professional to join our high performing Impact Assessment & Permitting (IAP) Team. Due to a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a principal level consultant to join our growing team. As part of our well-established group, you will take a key role in delivering excellence in client-service on projects from a range of markets including Power (renewables and grid modernisation), Mining, Transport, and Defence.

Our IAP Technical Practice covers a range of service offerings within the Environment Business Line including undertaking environmental constraints analysis, environmental Impact Assessment, obtaining environmental approvals, environmental management, auditing, and environmental compliance.

We are looking for a Principal Environmental Scientist who can work collaboratively to prepare and manage high-quality environmental Impact Assessments. You will be confident in translating technical information into accessible language in your written work and other communications.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Working closely with industry specialists to undertake and coordinate environmental Impact Assessments and approvals on high-profile, challenging projects.

  • Work alongside Management Teams, to ensure environmental matters are appropriately considered and managed at all stages of design development and project construction

  • Project manage, develop bids and develop relationships with clients and stakeholders on a range of projects.

  • Support the continued growth of our business and foster the development of environmental planning and approvals across the region.

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

What are we looking for from you?

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science.

  • Have strong environmental Impact Assessment experience across a number of market sectors and a good industry reputation.

  • Have demonstrated experience working on major projects.

  • have solid project management/coordination skills, and commercial acumen to effectively manage resources, timelines, quality and budgets.

  • Possess the emotional intelligence to develop and maintain positive peer and client relationships

  • Be a strong team player, influencer, and, most importantly, a real collaborator.

  • Be a good communicator with proven technical knowledge and a strong client focus.
