RSHQ is the independent regulator of worker safety and health in Queensland's mining, quarrying, petroleum, gas and explosives industries. Its focus is to ensure the safety and health of workers and community members affected by resources operations and explosives use.
The Principal Inspector, Fuel Gas Delivery and Biogas provides subject matter expertise, strategic advice and leads key activities involving a range of regulatory and compliance services to industry through inspections, audits, and other targeted initiatives to achieve the Inspectorate's operational objectives and RSHQ's strategic objectives.
In this role you will also represent RSHQ with key stakeholders and industry bodies to ensure safety, technical and operational standards align with requirements the provisions of the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004.
The Principal Inspector, Fuel Gas Delivery and Biogas, has a pivotal leadership role within the Petroleum and Gas Inspectorate at RSHQ. As a member of the Inspectorate's Leadership Team, you will demonstrate safety and health leadership for Fuel Gas operations, in particular, Fuel Gas Delivery and Biogas and biomethane production.
To do this you will be a motivated professional with demonstrated experience in the production, storage and delivery of Fuel Gas such as LPG, LNG, CNG and hydrogen and experience in biogas and biomethane production safety management.
Appointed as an inspector under the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004 (the Act), you will have experience with shift work, on call or after-hours roster arrangements.
In the role you will be called upon to interpret, apply, and provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders on the application of legislation, policies, and procedures relating to Fuel Gas operations that include biogas and biomethane facilities.
It is anticipated you will have a tertiary qualification (bachelor's degree or higher) in engineering, or another petroleum and gas industry related science OR at least 10 years' experience in Fuel Gas production, storage and delivery sector and experience in biogas and biomethane production safety management.
A medical assessment and background clearance is required for appointment and a current Australian driver's licence is essential for regular, regional travel.
