- Salary $106,534 - plus 11% superannuation - VPS Grade 5.1

The opportunity
The Principal Investigator/Auditor role will require you, as the most experienced member of a team, to independently undertake the most complex and sensitive investigation/audit activities in the Investigations Melbourne Branch in accordance with approved SRO compliance activities, and to mentor and provide guidance to less senior members of the team.
Reporting to a Team Leader, you will be required to:
- Assist the team leader with managing and leading a large team of Investigators/auditors.
- Conduct sensitive and/or complex investigations and audits, individually or as part of a team, across multiple revenue lines and conducting sensitive and complex negotiations with customers to achieve outcomes consistent with SRO objectives.
- Conduct complex research and provide expert advice on complex state taxation matters as well as contributing to the planning of strategic compliance activities.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A record of achievement as an Investigator/Auditor in a tax or revenue field with advanced expertise in applying a range of investigative techniques.
- People management experience in motivating, mentoring and training a team of investigators/auditors combined with your excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in interpreting and applying complex legislation in a taxation or revenue field.
- A tertiary qualification or demonstrated commitment to tertiary studies in a relevant discipline (highly desirable).
