About the role
UNE's recently arrived Vice-Chancellor and CEO Professor Chris Moran has an ambitious vision of engagement, growth and rejuvenation for UNE. This role is an opportunity to help shape a bright future for the University of New England. This role will lead, facilitate and coordinate a large strategic portfolio of activities to create and maintain a safe, positive, enjoyable and productive work environment for all at UNE. This senior role will champion a culture that prioritises the Safety and well-being of all staff members and will work closely with the Vice-Chancellor, Office of Strategy Management, Executive Team and staff across the University and will act with a high degree of empowerment to elevate the University of New England's culture and prioritize the mental health of its workforce. The Principal Lead will operate in a manner which ensure safety for UNE's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff and Students, by ensuring that that the need for psychosocial safety is connected with cultural safety. This role will also assist in creating an environment characterized by equal access and respected participation of all groups and individuals regardless of cultural, ethnic, racial, gender, age, religious differences, abilities and disabilities, and sexual orientation
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Considerable expertise in relation to organisational psychology, and positive experience in applying these to address complex issues in organisational culture;
Exceptional skills in project and portfolio management and organisation;
Outstanding interpersonal skills including great communication, empathy and emotional intelligence;
Skills in culturally sensitive facilitation to foster and promote a genuine process of institutional healing;
A deep commitment to fostering the co-creation of a healthy, respectful and energetic culture at the University of New England.
About the Office of Strategy Management
The Office of Strategy Management (OSM) provides support and advice to the Vice-Chancellor and Executive team in the execution of the university strategy. OSM leads the development of the University's institutional planning and performance activities, facilitates and coordinates the delivery of the University's strategic project portfolio, and acts as liaison and point of contact for Government relations, in particular concerning regulatory and funding issues. OSM also collaborates across the University working with relevant divisions to collectively address strategic business problems or challenges.
