About the opportunity
We are seeking a Principal Legal Advisor to join the team. You will play a critical part in supporting the State Revenue Office by managing and independently determining taxpayer objections to decisions and/or assessments for the Commissioner of State Revenue.
The work is varied and involves detailed investigation skills and analysis of a myriad of legislative and legal regimes.
The salary range for this role is $98 358 - $111 379 pro rata per annum, plus superannuation.

About you
- you are a self-starter and thrive working in a fast paced environment with competing priorities;
- you will have a legal interpretation background focusing on advice relating to legislation and taxation matters;
- you enjoy researching and investigating the intricacies of legislation;
- you will have high level stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with proven negotiation skills; and
- highly desirable that you have completed or partial completed a relevant tertiary or industry qualifications, and/or professional affiliation.
Hours per fortnight
Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part-time hours.
