EPCM working on renewables project in Perth Metro area requires a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the CBD based team. You will have a strong background in rotating equipment and desire to work within renewables.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Leading and mentoring the Mechanical Engineering team.
- Prepare and review mechanical package deliverables including datasheets, specifications, technical bid evaluations, specifications, drawings, calculations and reports,
- Act as a mechanical lead on projects.
- Evaluate vendor equipment supply proposals
- Providing advise and direction to the Mechanical team.
- Defining and recommending design methods, specifications and performance of functional requirements for new projects
- Undertaking and supervising the preparation of studies and project work.
- Mentor and develop a team of engineers
- Liaising with internal and external parties to ensure the timely, accurate and cost effective delivery of projects
- Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule
Skills and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- 15 years plus experience in refining or oil & gas plants
- Experience in rotating equipment package management - centrifugal pumps, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, blowers, positive displacement pumps and seal less pumps and experience working with API standards for rotating all these equipment and understanding of piping and pipe supports and the interfaces with mechanical equipment
- High level of technical aptitude and strong communication skills
- Experience in mentoring and training junior engineers
- Strong resource sector background.
