Provide educational expertise and leadership in the delivery of Medical Education to prevocational medical graduates, while ensuring ongoing training accreditation requirements are met.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Principal Medical Education Officerto join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Advise the Director Clinical Training (or equivalent) in the management development, implementation, evaluation and improvement in pre-vocational doctor training programs, orientation and other Medical Education programs
- Identify prevocational doctors' educational needs and advise accordingly
- Identify, develop, implement and evaluate educational resource material for the Junior Doctor Training Program in a manner consistent with state-wide Medical Education strategies
- Develop, monitor, review and conduct education programs for supervisors of junior doctors including clinical teacher in service activities
- Advise the Director Clinical Training (or equivalent) in strategic planning and the prioritising of responsibilities of the Medical Education Unit
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Possession of a relevant bachelor's degree in education / adult education, or a higher qualification in health education or a related discipline is mandatory
- Possession of a higher degree or qualification or progress towards this would be highly regarded
- A clinical background would be highly regarded
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (up to 6 months, with possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $5 062.30 - $5 432.80 per fortnight
