The Hobart City Council employs approximately 750 employees across multiple sites. Reporting to the Manager People & Culture, the Principal People & Culture Operations, leads a team of six direct reports who specialise in talent acquisition, payroll and general human resources.
The role entails providing both strategic and operational guidance to organisational leaders on various aspects related to talent acquisition, payroll, policy development, end-to-end recruitment processes, talent management, organisational design, diversity, equity, and inclusion, change management, performance evaluation, and employee relations.

About youTo succeed in this role, you should have relevant tertiary qualifications and at least 2 years of experience in a similar position, demonstrating a profound understanding of the specific challenges and opportunities within this domain. You must be capable of working independently, managing a recruitment portfolio, and possess exceptional communication skills. A proactive "can-do" attitude, strong organisational abilities, and multitasking skills are essential.
