Job description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Principal Planner to join our evolving Planning, Transport and Regulation (PTR) team. This is a leadership role, and we are looking for a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join the team.

As the Principal Planner you will be critical in providing strong strategic leadership and advice to ensure the delivery of the quality, accelerated assessment of local development applications within target timeframes. There is a focus and commitment to continually increase our internal capability which aligns with the Newcastle 2040 Community Strategic Plan.

This role will see you manage, support and deliver innovative approaches within the development assessment process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, identifying and implementing cutting-edge solutions, technologies, and strategies to streamline assessment procedures and optimise outcomes for both CN and our customers.

In accordance with CN's CX Principles you will guide the team to deliver consistent professional advice is provided via the Duty Officers to external and internal customers regarding development proposals and related applications, which are consistent with planning instruments, development policies, applicable relevant codes and environmental legislation.

Remuneration:  $128,874.23 + 11.5% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week.
