Energyze is a specialist electrical consultancy that delivers electrical infrastructure projects for various industries. We work with our clients in the private and public sectors to help accelerate their transition to sustainable energy use. We do this by offering end-to-end expertise across the energy supply chain including but not limited to, renewables, hydrogen, hydrocarbons, power generation, transmission, and distribution. Our team provide concept studies, detailed designs, construction and commissioning support and asset management services.

Energyze is embarking on a rapid expansion program due to its exciting projects wins and upcoming opportunities. We are on the lookout for multiple Power Systems Engineers with strong power system planning and grid connection experience to assist with a number of projects/Clients. Within this role, you will be required to implement your specialist capabilities while utilising the commonly used power system analysis tools, particularly; PowerFactory, PSCAD and PSS/E.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out and lead technical studies, including load flow, short circuit and stability analysis
  • Carry out and lead technical studies related to grid connection of renewables and conventional power generation sources
  • Capability in one or more other specialised technical areas, such as earthing, protection, power quality, electromagnetic transients, lightning, arc flash
  • Manage deliverables, schedules and budgets for client projects and studies
  • Manage client expectations through proactive and regular communications
  • Prepare detailed technical reports
  • Assist with preparation of proposals and resourcing discussions
  • Support in business development activities
  • Mentor, coach and develop younger engineers

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or higher (Mandatory)
  • +8 years’ experience in power system planning studies (Mandatory)
  • A demonstrated work history within the utility or energy sectors with a similar scope of duties
  • Proven experience with grid compliance and power system planning
  • Thorough understanding of the process and requirements for connecting new generators and loads
  • Thorough understanding of Power Systems Modelling guidelines
  • Proficient in PowerFactory and PSS/E software tools (Mandatory)
  • Above average understanding of PSCAD
  • High level of written and verbal communication
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of High Voltage assets, including operation, construction and maintenance practices and knowledge of the regulatory, legislative and standards which apply
  • Valid C-class driver’s license
  • CPEng and RPEQ registration is desirable
  • Australian residency or possession of a valid visa with work entitlement in Australia
