As a key member of the Green Certification team, the Principal Green Certification Engineer (Commodities) plays a pivotal role in advancing Fortescue's strategy for Green Commodities Projects. This role demands extensive engineering expertise applied to diverse commodities production requirements, supporting Fortescue's global aspirations in Green Hydrogen initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize technical expertise to lead the meticulous review of commodity production standards and calculation methodologies.
- Spearhead commodity emissions calculations, crucial in substantiating technical submissions for funding purposes.
- Craft comprehensive inputs for Scope of Work documents, delineating project prerequisites.
- Devise internal tools essential for project and concept development.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on emissions requisites and the associated documentation for project development and execution phase gates.
- Facilitate and support a diverse range of internal stakeholders to seamlessly integrate production necessities into project designs.
- Contribute to evolving standards, procedures, guidelines, and training materials essential for project success.
- Ensure consistent application of Green Certification requirements across all project phases.
- Develop project documentation crucial for project development.
- Mentor a multi-disciplinary technical team, offering guidance and expertise.
- Provide leadership and direction to direct reports.
- Interpret emissions requirements from local and off-taker market Green Certifications/Standards and Policies, offering guidance to various teams
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or Process Engineering.
- 15+ years of post-graduate engineering experience.
- Extensive involvement in Major Capital Projects, preferably within an Operator's/Owner's team.
- Proven track record in developing management frameworks, management systems, and conducting assurance/verification activities.
- Previous roles as a Technical Authority, Subject Matter Expert, or Process Advisor in an Operator/Owner's team are advantageous.
- Understanding of engineering deliverables, unit operations function, and 15+ years' experience in Complex Operating Facilities, Minerals, Manufacturing, Transport, or Construction is beneficial.
- Facilitating Management of Change, Risk Management, and Prestartup Safety Review checks related to Carbon Management.
- Project management, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and systems thinking.
