About the role
Reporting to the Technical Superintendent, the successful candidate will be self-motivated that thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be joining a diverse and highly knowledgeable team that prioritises safety, whilst driving continuous improvement at the Kleenheat Production Facility (KPF).
KPF have two LPG trains that produce the majority of domestic LPG (Propane / Butane) for the WA market, 1 x LNG plant that supplies low carbon natural gas to many mine sites, and associated import / export facilities. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, raising ideas, and developing projects to further enhance the reliability and profitability of KPF.
Where you add value
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the operations and maintenance teams in all aspects of LPG and LNG processing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve Electrical & Instrumentation issues
  • Identify and manage improvement projects
  • Support regulatory compliance activities and manage the site’s Safety Instrumented System
  • Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to solve plant defects; maximise the reliability of equipment; and assist with the planning, implementation and completion of scheduled and unscheduled shutdown maintenance
  • Designing and developing electrical/instrumentation systems in accordance with relevant standards
  • Utilising your Electrical Engineering expertise to initiate and drive plant, systems and equipment improvements and develop opportunities for future growth
  • Actively providing leadership and keeping open lines of communication in relation to safety, production, cost and improvement ideas
  • Ensure a safe workplace for all employees and customers by maintaining compliance with HSE management system standards
To excel in the role, you'll need the right mix of skills and experience, which for this position means:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with line of sight towards Chartered Membership with Engineers Australia
  • Prior experience in an operational facility, particularly with PLC/DCS (DeltaV) systems and field instrumentation, is highly beneficial. A strong practical understanding of engineering disciplines, coupled with hands-on experience in brownfield or operating plants within the hydrocarbon or a related industry, is advantageous
  • Experience completing all aspects of a capital project including scoping, design, construction, and commission is desirable
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to develop practical and viable solutions to complex problems
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Highly effective influencing skills with the ability to lead change and innovation
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Value and drive a safety culture that responds proactively to safety issues underpinned by knowledge of safe work methods and practices
  • Role model inclusive behaviour and foster an environment that values diversity
  • Knowledge of Functional safety applicable to process industry (IEC 61508 / 61511) would be an advantage
