As a Principal / Senior Water Engineer, there will be elements of business development as well as recruiting and mentoring teams as well as technical delivery of work and oversight of the team’s work.

The ideal candidate will be well connected in the Melbourne market and looking to work for a company with a point of difference. Having an Melbourne Retail Water Authority (MRWA) accreditation is also ideal.
Responsibilities:
- Business development: attend industry events and maintain strong connections with clients and other stakeholders in the industry
- Water Design: Lead the water design process
- Project Management: Manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget while meeting client expectations.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and project managers to develop integrated design solutions that align with project goals.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their requirements, present design concepts, and address any concerns or questions.
- Code Compliance: Ensure that all water designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Quality Control: Perform detailed reviews and quality checks on design drawings, calculations, and project deliverables to maintain the highest standards of quality.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in Water Engineering, incorporating innovative solutions into project designs.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or similar field
- Minimum 7 - 15yrs+ experience in an engineering consultancy
- Strong Melbourne network
- Melbourne Retail Water Authority (MRWA) accreditation is ideal
- Familiarity with codes, rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
- An ability to manage project teams to solve problems, drive health and safety culture and produce quality outcomes
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary projects
- Excellent reporting writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
