Water Resources professional (with a flood modelling focus) to join the AECOM
Water Resources team based in Melbourne.Our Melbourne
Water Resources team provides multi-disciplinary, integrated delivery of
Water Resources services across all industry sectors. We particularly provide services in the areas of drainage design, flood impact assessments, hydrological and hydraulic modelling/design and integrated water/stormwater management.By joining our team, you will have access to mentoring and guidance from our industry leading experts. You will also have the opportunity to work and collaborate with interstate and international offices.
Job DescriptionWhat will a day in this role look like:
- Work on projects predominantly involving hydrological and hydraulic modelling, flood risk investigations and catchment studies.
- Collaborate with a number of professionals in a range of geographies.
- Support a variety of projects across all market sectors, with a focus on transport (road, rail and air), water, power and private sector markets located across Victoria and beyond.
- Work on a diverse range of interesting projects and where appropriate, provide direct supervision, leadership and mentoring of junior staff to assist in their professional development.

QualificationsWhat are we looking for from you?
- Tertiary qualifications in civil or civil/environmental engineering & RPEV / CPEng (or working towards) – highly regarded.
- Working knowledge of industry standards and guidelines including ARR 2019.
- Ideally, demonstrated experience with water resource modelling and design packages such as TUFLOW, DRAINS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), RORB, XPRAFTS, URBS, 12d, MUSIC, GoldSim, OpSim, IQQM, Source etc.
- An appetite for a fast-paced multi-disciplinary project delivery environment, and the demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
- Strong client focus, high level of motivation, dedication and ability to work well in a team environment.
