Overview of the role:
As a Principal Signal Engineer within our Signalling Testing and Commissioning team you will be responsible for undertaking Signalling Testing and Commissioning activities in line with a Tester in Charge or Senior Test Engineer.
You will also assist with Interlocking Simulator Setup and Maintenance as well as assist with Principles Testing Activities.
With a high focus also on providing support to QR’s Major Project Integration team as well as to our regional based and SEQ business as usual projects.
About you:
We are looking for someone who is ready to make significant impact by demonstrating familiarity with various forms of Processor Based Interlockings and Simulators.
Experience in programming and software while also understanding the requirements of various embedded systems.
Understanding of Function Testing and Tester in Charge roles and responsibilities.
Proficient in understanding of Testing and Commissioning Activities.
You will also bring well established background in Signalling, be well versed in Queensland Rail specific infrastructure or equivalent and have broad experience in Commissioning Roles and Responsibilities.
The ideal candidate would have a practical background either from a trade based qualification or significant experience in the field with Signalling Equipment.
Qualification requirements at the time of application:
Bachelor Engineering Electrical/Electronic or Queensland Rail accepted equivalent degree.
Professional engineering qualifications must be recognised under the Washington Accord or demonstrated by ‘an entry to practice competently’ having been awarded to you by Engineers Australia.
