The occupant of this position will be part of the Software Development Group in the Development & System Transition (D&ST) directorate, which is comprised of 82 employees and a rotation of contractors. This position reports to the Manager of Development.

Your key accountabilities:
The core capability requirements for this role are:
* Develop and implement strategic direction for business application software development whilst liaising with the design and architecture teams to ensure a high level of service is provided.
* Ensure design, coding, documentation and testing of the code written by the team is completed in accordance with best-practice software development, IDS guidelines and PDM methodologies.
* Participate in Agile software development practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives.
* Maintain documentation for Software Development Group solutions, including design documents, technical specifications, and user guides.
* Solve complex technical problems and provide technical direction to other developers.
* Provide expert advice on business system solutions, products, implementation, transition and services and provide support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide leadership and work collaboratively with team members to develop their technical skills and knowledge.
Role Requirements:
Qualification:
* A tertiary level qualification in Information Technology or Computer is highly desirable
Technical/Operational/Educational experience:
Demonstrated use and skill with the following technologies:
* Microsoft.NET Framework/Core (C#)
* Java
* Microsoft Design Patterns (MVC, MVVM, Razor)
* Microsoft Visual Studio 2022
* Azure DevOps, TeamCity, DevOps
* Testing Frameworks (MSTest, NUnit, Gherkin, SpecFlow)
* Entity Framework / Dapper / SQL
* Microsoft Web Services technologies
Strong knowledge in all phases of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Commitment to maintain currency with industry trends and technologicaladvancements
Desirable Skills/Requirements:
* Knowledge of developing within a Secure Software Development Lifecycle
* Demonstrated experience in Cross Functional Agile teams
* Knowledge of Java development technologies
* Knowledge of Microsoft Web Platform
