The role
Reporting to the Project Manager, Statistical Standards and Strategies Unit, Statistical Services Branch, you will oversee and implement comprehensive testing processes aligned with established service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies, and Test Strategy. Responsibilities include managing test planning, providing technical support, User Acceptance Test (UAT) support and co-ordination, overseeing documentation reviews, and ensuring the integrity of testing and acceptance activities for projects. The Testing Manager will lead a team of specialist resources, manage development of testing products, handle defect management, mentor the team of testers and provide advice and guidance on all aspects of testing and produce accurate test reporting.
This role requires expertise in planning and managing various types of testing in line with Test Strategy and improvement methodologies, adherence to Queensland Health ICT Testing Governance Policy, and the ability to implement quality testing methods. The Testing Manager will also contribute to ethical decision-making, comply with contemporary HR practices, and ensure project alignment with the Testing Competency and Assurance unit's reviews. The role necessitates proven consulting experience or a quick acquisition of consultancy skills, along with managing ICT testing resource requirements, developing cost estimates, and contributing to business cases.
The successful person
To excel in this position, you should highlight proven expertise in orchestrating testing activities within extensive and intricate IM/ICT programs or projects, specifically within the health sector. Preferably, experience with software development in statistical and data collection business domains is highly desirable. Your record of accomplishment should encompass all testing phases, encompassing plans, resources, costs, timelines, test deliverables, and auditability, particularly in large, complex IM/ICT programs/projects within the health industry. Your skill set should extend to initiating relationships and influencing key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of required IM/ICT outcomes. Additionally, you should possess high-level analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record in assessing and evaluating testing requirements within complex IM/ICT environments. You will also have ability to lead, manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary team.
Moreover, you should demonstrate a history of implementing high-quality testing methods and frameworks in the health sector, with a keen focus on maintaining the integrity of testing. Expertise in providing in-depth knowledge of pertinent testing techniques, methods, and tools frameworks, especially within the health industry and software development in statistical and data collection business domains, is highly coveted.
