Your purpose
As the Senior Analyst you will assist in the execution of Bank Stress Testing, with a secondary objective helping to drive the Bank's Capital Strategy.
You will develop and enhance the Bank's Stress Testing capabilities to provide useful insights to the business, particularly in relation to capital targets, and risk management, including climate change risk.
What you'll do
- Develop and enhance the Bank's Stress Testing capabilities including owning end-to-end delivery of Bank Stress Testing, including annual APRA ADI bank-wide Stress Tests
- Help determine the approach and key assumptions for each exercise, including developing and executing a detailed project plan
- Support and assist in developing capital mitigation strategies and assess their effectiveness
- Provide detailed but succinct reports of results, including findings, issues, and recommendations to relevant committees and/or Board
- Develop, monitor, and maintain the models used in Stress Testing
- Work with the 2LOD to help develop an optimal annual Stress Testing program and assist in the periodic review of the Bank Stress Testing Framework
- Help drive the ongoing development and execution of SML's Climate Change Scenario Analysis ahead of mandatory disclosure requirements in FY25
- Provide support in the development and maintenance of the Bank's Capital Strategy, including the Bank's Recovery and Exit Plan and ICAAP Summary Statement / Report
What you'll need to bring
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Statistics / Mathematics, or Risk (desired)
- Post graduate finance, economics or accounting qualifications requirement (desired)
- Member of professional body (eg, CPA, CA, CFA) (desired)
- Previous experience within the Risk or Finance functions with an Australian major bank or significant regional bank is highly desirable
- A sound understanding of the modelling capabilities and obligations of an advanced-accredited Bank
