About the role
The Principal Environmental Scientist will be responsible for the growth, development and delivery of SGMEs environmental discipline, performance and reporting functions including key strategies such as Departmental Business Planning, Business Continuity Plans, Departmental Organisational
Reporting and Mentoring. Candidates must provide inspiring and value-driven leadership for this discipline and work collaboratively with other internal disciplines and external stakeholders. Ensure timely progress on project deliverables are made towards meeting client and project objectives and
that SGMEs values are reflected throughout all activities and actions. Delivering on SGMEs business plan and growth agenda. Responsible for building a cohesive and high-performance team within the discipline, including management of project budgets, continuous measurement of discipline
performance, governance and compliance obligations. Demonstrate genuine passion and commitment to environmental management and proven track record to meet and exceed sales targets.
About you
Leverage your professional network and be a leader who engenders trust and confidence and inspires the achievement of organisational growth. 10+ years within a senior position as an Environmental Scientist within the mining and minerals sector delivering simple to complex innovative solutions to clients globally. Tertiary qualified in the relevant discipline, solid understanding of mine life-cycle. Hands-on value-based leader, delivering projects, building engagements with clients, and champion innovation and relish the opportunity to contribute to overall organisation success, making a significant positive impact. Strong knowledge of the Mining Act and relevant mine closure and
rehabilitation.
