Print Finisher And Machine Operator (Master Or Talented Trainee)

Same Day Printing is seeking both apprentices and experienced masters to join our production team as Print Finishersand Machine Operators. As a Print Finisher and Machine Operator, you will:

• Work with our production team to organise and manage client print projects within our finishing department.
• Set up and operate a range of finishing equipment, including Uchida and Duplo creasers/cutters, fully automated B3 laminator, digital foiling & sleeking, rotary die-cutting, perfect bound hardcover & softcover equipment, automated folder & gluer, Fujifilm Revoria, and Ricoh toner-based printers.
• Perform hand finishing on some client projects.
• Conduct routine maintenance on finishing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Pack finished projects for dispatch.
• Maintain a clean, organised and tidy workplace.

For All Candidates:

• Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently.
• Have an appetite to learn and continually improve.
• Aim to be the best at what you do.
• Assist with regular machine maintenance to ensure presses and finishing equipment remain in an optimal state.
• Ability to monitor and manage a fluid workflow, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Liaise with leaders and production management on all issues that may affect production’s ability to meet their requirements on a daily basis.
• Correspond with external suppliers regarding technical support for presses and finishing equipment to resolve issues promptly.
• Flexibility with regards to overtime in line with operational requirements.
• Follow processes and work in liaison with the Production Manager.
• A good sense of humour and a positive attitude.

For Talented Trainees:

• Enthusiasm for learning and a keen interest in print finishing.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Mechanically minded with a willingness to learn and troubleshoot.

For Experienced to Masters:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in print finishing, with a deep understanding of operating a range of print finishing equipment.
• Great attention to detail.
• Mechanically minded with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
