GIS Officer
- Salary $88,557.35 - $102,727.05 p/a + super
- Permanent full time position – 35 hours per week

Ku-ring-gai Council is located 16 km’s north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales’ most attractive natural environments.
Reporting to the Coordinator Land Information your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and maintain Council’s Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to ensure the accuracy, currency, consistency and effectiveness of spatial information throughout the organisation
- Manage user profiles and access levels
- Produce complex non-standard maps, plans, queries and reports
- Develop and manage reliable spatial web services/APIs to support Council's objectives and spatial data requirements
- Develop and manage complex GIS\Web applications
- Provide Property Information Services to Council staff, members of the public and other authorities as required
Required Qualifications, skills & experience:
- Degree in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and relevant experience, or significant demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Current Class C driver's licence
- Proven background in GIS administration, specifically Microsoft SQL Server, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and Geocortex/VertiGIS Studio
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ArcGIS Javascript/SDK, Arcade, Python, SQL, ETL workflows in FME, and in creating and using web services (Rest API and/or web hooks)
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate with staff across all organisational levels and roles
