About the role We are seeking a values-driven Chaplain who will they work in partnership with other professional staff to provide holistic support to both clients and staff. Chaplain is a trained specialist and has expertise in recognising and focusing on the spiritual and pastoral needs of others.

The chaplain’s role may include provision of religious services including chapel services, funerals and dedications/naming services. It also includes the facilitation of faith discussion groups and looks to support people from other faith groups as appropriate. The role includes: Prison Chaplaincy Provide Chaplaincy (pastoral care) to inmates at Townsville Women’s and Townsville

Men’s Correctional Centre’s. Actively participate in and contribute to the multi-denominational Correctional Centre, Chaplaincy Team, including participation in monthly Correctional Centre Team meetings. Prepare and lead services of an ecumenical nature in accordance with the roster.

Attend the annual State Chaplaincy Board in-service training (usually early March each year). Social Mission Chaplaincy Provide spiritual and pastoral care to staff and participants at our Social Mission (drug and alcohol) Expression at Townsville Recovery Services.

Assist in the development and continuance of community engagement activities. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Participate in QLD

Area Leadership Team (ALT) meetings as required. Work within an ALT framework, within designated geographical areas. Provide chapel services, Bible studies and other services as required.

Build relationships with TSA mission expressions which support integration and Salvation Army Local Mission Delivery You will have Diploma of Chaplaincy completed or willing to complete (mandatory) within 2 years. If the successful applicant hasn’t commenced a Diploma of Chaplaincy, then commencement of the next available Foundations course is mandatory Clinical Pastoral Education [CPE] Relevant qualifications in theological studies (preferred) Positive Lifestyle Program facilitator training (preferred) Working

With Children Check (Blue Card) Valid and current driver’s licence Attends Christian place of worship This is a permanent, part-time (15.2hrs per week, with the option of an additional 7.6hrs) position located in Townsville, QLD. What we offer
