About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Private Rental Assistance Program Worker! You will work closely with Homelessness Entry Point team to prevent homelessness and reduce preventable exits from Private Rental.
Responsibilities include
- Maintain strong working relationships with real estate agencies and other appropriate bodies
- Participate in, comply with, and be supported by WHS outreaching worker safety risk management processes
- Assist client to liaise and negotiate with real estate agents, including understanding rental ledgers and reporting maintenance
- Develop collaborative relationships with local support agencies to promote the program and assist with referrals
- Maintain all notes and data for client assistance into the client management system database (SAMIS)
This is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted for 6 months, based in Sunshine, VIC. Salary and conditions are in conditions SCHADS Award Level 5.
You will have
- Diploma or tertiary qualification in Social Work or Human Services field
- A working understanding of and experience in a human service environment
- A working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (essential)
- Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander homelessness including causes and issues
- A current and valid Victorian Driver's Licence
