The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior PCI and Reliability Manager, the PCI Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing Continuous Improvement projects including major capital works.
As an experienced and driven Electrical engineer, you will analyse and implement production efficiency projects, execute condition monitoring and quality checks on electrical work.
As a key collaborator, you will support the maintenance and production departments in day-to-day issues, reliability projects focusing on reducing maintenance delay and ongoing reliability of equipment and machinery at the James Hardie Rosehill manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Project management including capital writing, procurement, scheduling, FAT, implementation, commissioning, testing and handover to production.
- Undertake reliability analysis activities and projects to best ensure the long-term reliability of electrical equipment and control systems and perform redesign/design modification to improve reliability performance.
- Execute and monitor condition monitoring equipment and provide analysis feedback to operations and maintenance team on maintenance strategy changes on assets.
- Undertake and drive Continuous Improvement capital and non-capital projects on machinery to increase throughput and efficiency of equipment.
- Assist with day-to-day electrical equipment issues and provide engineering support to the operations and maintenance teams.
- Troubleshoot and fault find various electrical equipment issues onsite to provide short machine downtime.
- Work with operational and maintenance teams to execute minor and major machine shutdown planning and execution.
- Provide and assist with training and development of maintenance and operational personnel.
- Participate in checking and approving vendor and subcontractor design, including attendance of Factory and Site Acceptance Test
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants, or commissioning engineers concerning the design, installation, construction and commissioning of projects.
- Commitment to Work Health and Safety, and Quality Management
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of Australian standards; AS 3000
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, focus on manufacturing plant machinery, equipment and Continuous Improvement.
- Strong troubleshooting and strong analytical skills
- Understanding of Scada, HMI & PLC programming
- Project management skills
- Effective communication skills to influence all stakeholder levels from operators to senior management.
- Strong analytical skills to provide analysis of data and process.
- Ability to work autonomously without instruction or guidance.
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Project and other analytical products.
