Hays are proud to work with this surface mine operating on King Island, off the North West Coast of Tasmania in Bass Straight. A highly specialised business, they process valuable heavy mineral sand to a single concentrate whilst minimising environmental impact.
Your new role
As Mine Process Engineer, you will be responsible for mine and plant process effectiveness. Included in your responsibilities will be:
Developing and implementing efficient surface mine processes and you'll play a pivotal role in maximising productivity.
Process mapping and process improvement.
Ensuring compliance with OH&S to secure a safe work environment for all team members, conducting risk assessments and promoting a high safety culture.
Overseeing all aspects of mining operations to achieve production targets by optimising mining processes, equipment utilisation and resource allocation.
- Quality control of final product and ensuring plant and equipment is operating effectively and to specification.
What you'll need to succeed
This role requires someone passionate about process optimisation, productivity and cost-effectiveness. To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mining, Mineral Processing, or related field) and or demonstrated success in a similar role.
Proficiency in mining and mineral processing software and data management tools.
Passion for sustainable mining practices.
Proven experience in surface mining operations, specifically with mineral sands including ilmenite, rutile and zirconium.
Strong knowledge of mining regulations, safety standards and environmental compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What you'll get in return
This role is based on King Island off the north west coast of Tasmania in Bass Straight. The successful candidate will be required to live on the island. Accommodation is provided and relocation costs will be negotiated. This is a permanent role and a salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate dependent on skills and experience.
