About the Role

The Procurement Lead position plays a crucial role in leading and supporting procurement activities across Southern Rural Water. This dynamic position collaborates closely with the Accounting Manager to assist in meeting the procurement compliance framework obligations set by SRW and the Financial Management Act. Responsible for upholding the SRW procurement strategy, annual procurement plans, and related processes and policies, this role offers a range of both operational and strategies responsibilities. This role would be suitable for someone who has worked in a Procurement or Quality Assurance based role.
As the Procurement Lead, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Administer, oversee, and provide support to internal and external stakeholders within a procurement framework that is compliant with Financial Management Act obligations.
- Supervise and coordinate Accounts Payable activities to ensure timely payments to SRW suppliers, while adhering to contractual requirements and SRW's accounts payable policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with procurement strategies, plans, policies, procedures and systems that support effective and efficient service delivery.
- Provide support to financial delegates in the day-to-day operation of the procurement framework.
- Ensure oversight of contractors and suppliers by monitoring and maintaining a contracts management system, register, and compliance tools to meet all contractual and statutory requirements.

About you
The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below:
- Proven experience in procurement administration and delivering contract management frameworks, processes and practices.
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end procurement activities in industries such as (but not limited to) government, utilities or construction.
- Successful time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to identify improvement opportunities.
