Procurement Business Partner - Gas Assets

About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Business Partner to join us here at AGL, to be based at our Melbourne Corporate site

As part of the Group Procurement team, but embedded within Gas Assets, you will be the critical link between a diversified business unit and sourcing & contract management activities. You'll need exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, paired with strong disciplines spanning sourcing strategy development, market engagement and implementation through to contract management over the life-cycle.

About you:

You will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including written and presentation skills and a demonstrated capacity to develop viable procurement and contract management strategies.

Knowledge of the business drivers and issues facing a large-scale Energy company, and the ability to assist in translating these into requirements for inclusion in portfolio activity.

Proven ability to work effectively in a complex, matrix management environment.

Display and demonstrate an inherent ability to use effective negotiating and influencing skills in a collaborative manner.

Work effectively in a team assisting Gas Assets and Procurement to meet AGL's strategic objectives and deliverables in accordance with AGL policies and procedures.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 5+ years' commercial experience in a dynamic strategic procurement and/or contract management environment
  • Demonstrable self-starting capabilities to build engagement and visibility of requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Navigate through competing priorities and drive collaboration among stakeholders to maximize business benefits.
  • Expertise in strategic and operational sourcing disciplines, preferably with a background in maintenance, repair & operations (MRO).
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including highly developed written and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the business drivers and issues facing a large-scale Energy company, and the ability to assist the business in translating these into requirements for sourcing.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a complex and regulated environment.
  • Must display and demonstrate an inherent ability to use effective negotiating and influencing skills in a consultative and constructive manner.
  • Work effectively in a team to complete tasks and achieve team KPI's and timelines in accordance with AGL policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with other departments and external agencies as related to the job role.
