A bit about the role
The Procurement Business Partner will provide sound and responsive procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholders and business units involved in procurement and purchasing activities, building strong partnerships under a Business Partnering model.
You will develop critical procurement documentation and lead procurement projects on behalf of the City of Casey.
What you’ll deliver
- Deliver high quality and responsive procurement services that comply with Council’s Procurement Policy and reflect best practice principles.
- Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies to meet internal client needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate suppliers to optimise service outcomes.
- Proactively partner with stakeholders to develop innovative procurement strategies, supply arrangements and negotiating plans to deliver value for money outcomes.
- Provide advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of the procurement and contract management functions to encourage innovative practices, achieve delivery of business outcomes and support policy directions.
- Apply procurement best practice to ensure compliance, manage risk and enhance the delivery of value in procurement activity and performance.
What you’ll bring
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as commerce, finance or economics or demonstrated working experience commensurate with the requirements of the role.
- Demonstrated procurement experience within a Public Sector or Public Service environment is desirable.
- Ability to comprehend, analyse and interpret contract documents.
- Hands-on experience running source to contract market activities, contract negotiation and execution and contract management.
- Excellent written, analytical and verbal skills.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
