About the Opportunity
Working closely with the project team, the Procurement and Logistics Manager will be responsible for supporting Wellhead Platform installation operations in South-East Asia by conveying and managing orders between suppliers, operations, and other internal and external logistic functions. The role will also focus on enhancing the internal capability of the business, leading system and process improvement to increase efficiencies, reduce cost, and improve accuracy across the procurement and logistics functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, organising, and implementing all operational Procurement & Logistics activities in compliance with ICON Management System Procedures and Processes.
- Handle ‘day-to-day’ purchasing including following up orders, assessing & identifying supply risks, and defining & implementing measures to mitigate those risks to ensure delivery meets schedule (including rescheduling/ managing schedule impact).
- Complete dispatch and receival documentation to client’s satisfaction.
- Maintain all registers, documentation and record keeping for all functions relating to logistics, project assets and project procured items as required.
- Marshall, coordinate and prepare equipment for shipping. Supervise third parties during loadouts.
- Ensure loadout consumables (pallets/ straps, etc.) are maintained to ensure logistics schedules can be received.
- Lead continuous improvement in the procurement and logistics functions.
- Working closely with business units to meet production deadlines, secure cost-effective procurement, and provide quotations and guidance as required.
- Minimum of 15 years practical experience in operational procurement within Oil & Gas/ Mining.
- Acquiring and management of installation equipment/ materials and plant (e.g. vessels, barges, cranes, construction support equipment).
- Manage sub-contracts and vendors of the South-East Asia region (Singapore/ Malaysia/ Indonesia – Brunei ideal) along with a good understanding of Southeast Asia and Australian supply and works contract terms and conditions.
- Sound negotiation ability.
- Successfully prepared Request for Tender/ Quote and Purchasing Specification documents.
- Commercial acumen in evaluating submitted tenders and terms & conditions (identifying any departures from acceptable T&Cs) and develop recommendation to award.
- Managed contracts post award, including expediting, logistics co-ordination, correspondence control, evaluation of contractor payments, and variation requests.
- Detail-minded and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Actively promote safe working and HSE focused culture.
- Dangerous goods transport and handling qualifications desirable.
